
Modern Art III Workshop

The “Modern Art III” Workshop covers the art periods and movements after World War II until Post.modernism (1945-1965). The Workshop will teach the participants how to look at Modern paintings from the “Postwar Modernism” period, understand the movements and analyse their visual qualities. The target of the Workshop is to develop participants’ skills to recognize the typical movements from 1945 to 1965. The Workshop is designed to be self-explanatory, the participants do not need to have any background in earlier/later periods of Modern Art. The Modern Art III Workshop will be composed of 6 lectures of 2 hours each and will be conducted in English.

Lecture 2 – Abstract Expressionism
Lecture 3 – Art Informel / CoBrA / Spatialism
Lecture 4 – Neo-Dada / Kinetic Art / Fluxus
Lecture 5 – Pop Art / Nouveau Réalisme
Lecture 6 – Post-Painterly Abstraction / Summary & Discussions
