Baroque & Rococo Workshop (6 Weeks)

The Workshop covers the Baroque and Rococo periods and will teach the participants how to look at paintings from those periods. The target of the Workshop is to develop skills for the participants to recognise typical Baroque and Rococo characteristics and distinguish them from Renaissance. The Workshop is designed for beginners to art history and no background knowledge or experience is needed.

The Baroque & Rococo Workshop will be composed of 6 lectures of 2 hours each and will be conducted in English.

Workshop Content:
By participating in the Baroque-Rococo Painting Analysis Workshop you will:
– Learn about the background and characteristics of Baroque & Rococo styles
– Learn techniques to distinguish Baroque and Rococo from Renaissance
– Develop skills to analyse paintings from the periods and read the iconography
– Participate in fun quizzes and win art books as prizes
Subjects: Old Testament Stories, Greek-Roman Mythology, Royal Painters, Dutch Golden Age & Genre Painting
Artists: Caravaggio, Rubens, Rembrandt, Gentileschi, Van Dyck, Velázquez, Vermeer, Poussin, Fragonard, Boucher, Watteau & Utrecht Caravaggisti and many more
