Renaissance Workshop (6 Weeks)

The Workshop covers the Renaissance period and will teach the participants how to look at Renaissance paintings. The target of the Workshop is to develop participants’ skills to recognize typical Renaissance characteristics and compare different Renaissance styles (Italian, Northern, Venetian & Mannerism) with each other. The Workshop is designed for beginners to art history and no background knowledge or experience is needed.
The Renaissance Workshop will be composed of 6 lectures of 2 hours each and will be conducted in English.
Workshop Content:
– Main characteristics of Renaissance Period
– Renaissance styles, painters and techniques (Italian, Northern, Venetian & Mannerism)
– Analysing famous Renaissance paintings
Subjects: Creation, Life of Christ / Scenes from New Testament, Greek-Roman Mythology, Northern Renaissance and Genre Painting
Artists: Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Raffaello, Botticelli, Masaccio, Giotto, Van Eyck, Dürer, Brueghel, Tiziano, Tintoretto, Veronese, Bellini and many more
